50 Things About High School That No One Ever Tells You, But Really Should

Long time, no speak, Max-fans.  Since most of us are going back to school in a few days, or so, I thought I'd open up the new year with a list.  This list - as it says in the title - is a list of things about high school that no one ever tells you, but really should. (This is a remastered version than the one I put up on Facebook.)
Here goes:

  1. The stuff teachers try to drill into your brain for your 'future', usually ends up being completely useless when the time comes.
  2. Teachers really do have teacher's pets, it's just not as obvious as it is in movies.
  3. And just like they have teacher's pets, teachers also have those one kids that they cannot stand, although they lie and say they like everybody.
  4. Majority of all the kids that are popular in high school will expect the same treatment in college.  Therefore, they will most likely be loners for their first 6 months of college.
  5. Bullies are insecure.
  6. It's okay to get in trouble.  Just make sure your friends get in trouble with you.
  7. When losing a friend into a different crowd, just let it go.  People are going to change whether you want them to, or not.
  8. Hardly ever will you actually go to the bathroom when you ask to go to the bathroom.
  9. Teachers know you have your phone in your pocket. They've been around this school longer than you have, they're not that stupid.
  10. And yet they never can figure out when you're texting. Unless you're one of the dumb people who doesn't know how to text without looking, or always leaves your volume up.
  11. All females will use the bathroom excuse for the sole reason of checking their phone if they are too chicken to whip it out in class.
  12. All guys will more than likely pull out their phone in class because they just don't really care.
  13. If you live in a small town and go to a small school, be prepared to not have the privelage of this thing called "privacy."
  14. Half the time, people know things about you before you yourself know them.
  15. Most teachers are naive when it comes to technology.
  16. Most students are naive when it comes to history, even if they're in a history class.
  17. Everybody has a group, whether they think they do or not
  18. With every new batch of seventh graders, they get shorter and mouthier, every year.
  19. Most of your ambitions during the teen years, usually develop into what most kids call the "Egh, I was younger, then" category, within about two weeks to a month.
  20. There's always going to be one teacher who doesn't like you. There may be more, but everyone has at least one.
  21. As much as girls think they need one right away, having a boyfriend when you're in seventh or eighth grade just makes you look silly, and also causes you more drama than if you'd just wait until 11th or 12th grade. You're better off single until then.
  22. Always blame the hormones. They are the reason people call us 'angst-y'
  23. In any school, there are at least three groups of people: The Popular Ones, The Middles Class, and The Lowlifes...and then you have the one or two odd-balls that like everybody, and that everybody else likes, yet they aren't a member of any of the groups. They're just...there.
  24. In small towns, everybody rivals over what groups the foreign-exchange students will be in, so in turn, everybody is as nice as possible to them when they arrive. Its only later that the foreign-exchange kids find out who's a faker and who's for real.
  25. Every class has at least one person they cannot stand. The dislike of that person is the one thing that the rest of the classmates have in common, if nothing else.
  26. Prom is overrated.
  27. Homecoming is also overrated.
  28. As much as some of us don't want to admit, gossip is fun to listen to if its not about you or any of your friends.
  29. Guys gossip worse than girls, believe it or not.  They're just not as cruel about it as girls are.
  30. Every class has its own (forgive the term) "slut."  However, these girls are usually twice as nice as any of the non-slutty girls in the class.
  31. Even though The Popular Ones always get the bad wrap as being really mean, etc., some of those kids are really nice people.
  32. Looks can be very deceiving
  33. On the first day of a new class, everyone is nervous, although they never admit it.
  34. Everyone is excited on the first day of school. No one can explain why. But then, the second day of school rolls around, and everyone starts thinking "When's our next break?"
  35. Time flies, even though it seems like a lifetime is going by when sitting in a class you don't like.
  36. Never trust the school clocks. Always go by your cell phone.
  37. Be nice to the lunch ladies. They may not poison your food, but they can make your lunch-time very unpleasant.
  38. Girls always go to the bathroom in groups, if they can. Reason:  Unknown.
  39. Whether you're in a big school or a small one, always take your keys out of your car and lock it.
  40. There's always those few people who go all-out, going as far as painting their faces for game days.
  41. If a person doesn't want to go out for sports, or go out for speech, etc. ...don't waste all your breath trying to convince them otherwise. After the first few hundred times of saying no, you'd think people would get the hint.
  42. Sports are overrated.
  43. Never tell a speech or One-Act person their activity is not a sport.  It would be hazardous to your health, trust me.
  44. Trust only the people you've known for a really long time. Make sure they don't have a history of spilling the beans under pressure before you tell them your deepest, darkest secrets.
  45. A scary thought to consider: there are most likely cameras in your school...so don't fix a wedgie or pick your nose in the hallway when you think no one is watching, because there's always someone watching.
  46. Facebook: The Ultimate Stalking Site. Enough said.
  47. Usually when you say, or someone else says to you, "We need to hang out some time!", it never happens.
  48. Most seventh graders got their cell phones earlier than you did.
  49. Most of these lessons apply mainly to smaller high schools.
  50. "If you don't go after what you want, you'll never have it. If you don't ask, the answer is always no. If you don't step forward, you're always in the same place."
     So, there you have it.

No Words...

Doesn't matter who you are.  People should not have to make videos like this to get others to see they are hurting.  Watch what you say, because you never know what your words might drive someone to do, whether it be cutting, or worse.  To a Mr. Jonah Mowry.  Someday, there will be no more sorrow.  And you're always loved by God, always safe in his arms.

God bless,
Max

Thankfulness

Today is Thanksgiving.  I'm just going to flat out make a list of all the things I can think of that I'm thankful for:

  1. God - because really, where would any of us be right now if it weren't for Him?  Not existing, that's for sure!
  2. Life - He gave it to us, be grateful.
  3. Tanner - because no one else (besides God) puts up with me as well as he does.
  4. Mom - because even when we fight, she's always on my side when I need her to be.
  5. Dad - because no one can scare annoying boys away faster than he can.
  6. Tana - because big sisters are always the perfect friend when all your other friends are being stupid.
  7. Heath - because big brothers can scare any boy away faster than even Dad can.
  8. Friends - because they're the weirdos we can actually choose for our family.
  9. Relatives - even though they're weird, be comforted in the fact that you usually turn out exactly like them.  Although, I have yet to figure out how this fact is comforting.
  10. Teachers - because even though we are all really annoying, teachers have put up with endless throngs of us, year after year, 5 days a week.  Half the time, we are even bothering them on weekends and holidays.
  11. School - because without it, we'd all be stupid.
  12. Phones - because they keeps those of us living in the country from going insane from isolation.
  13. Snow - Yeah, I know, I can't believe I'm thankful for snow, but without it, Christmas wouldn't be as lovely, we wouldn't have snow days, and there would be no more snow forts and slush-ball fights.  And fireplaces wouldn't be as delightful.
  14. Trees - because tree forts and tree climbing are essential to childhood development.
  15. Water - because it's good, and our bodies need it.
  16. Food - because it's good, and our bodies need it.
  17. Cars - because otherwise, we'd have an awful time getting places in the winter.
  18. Heat - because otherwise, we'd freeze.
  19. All the other things I can't think of - because they deserve some gratitude, too.
     What are you thankful for?

Do I Really Need To Spell It Out For You?...

So, earlier today, I put up a status on Facebook:

If anyone says "Happy Holidays" to me at all, I'm going to punch you in the face.  It's "Merry Christmas."  Say that, and you'll be safe from my fury.

Now, obviously, some people didn't catch my meaning.  Although, I'm not sure how it could be misinterpreted in the first place, but whatever.  I said it because the holiday is called "CHRISTmas" for a reason.  You tell someone "Merry Christmas," not "Happy Holidays."  It's Christ's holiday, all of two that people actually reserve for Him; people can at least acknowledge that.  It's not that difficult to say the former, and yet stores, media, and people can only seem to say the latter.  Now, I know you're probably thinking this isn't a big deal, but to me, it is.  When Hanukkah comes around, you don't hear people of the Jewish faith running around, saying things like "Happy Holidays."  They are proud of their faith.  So why can't we as Christians show a little respect, and be proud of the Christ who was sent to earth as a little baby, and then 33 years later, died so that you, and I, and the rest of the world could be free from sin?  Be proud, and "Merry Christmas."

Long Time, No Rant (Reader's Discretion is Advised)

Hello, readers!  Did you miss me?  If you did, great!  If you didn't, boo hoo, get over it.
I'm going to get straight to the point:  Today I am broaching the topic of. . . Let's see, how can I put this nicely without using any derogatory words?  Um. . . little-teen-girls-younger-than-me-running-around-and-sleeping-with-and/or-doing-other-things-with-every-guy-they-can-get-their-hands-on-that's-even-halfway-popular.  You catch my drift?  Good.
So, what brought on this onslaught of anger and disbelief from me?  Well, today, I heard a disturbing story about a freshman girl "giving head" (the nice term for it), or a B.J., to one of her male classmates.  Multiple times.  Frequently.  Now, first of all, I can't fathom why anybody, anywhere would want to do that.  That's just. . . eew.  Second of all, freshman (and under) should not even know what a B.J. is.  Unfortunately, with the help of magazines, television, and movies, majority of kids, from around 6th grade on up, know exactly what a B.J. is.  Now, we have little girls wearing tight, flashy, very exposing clothing, sleeping with guys who are no more sexually (or mentally) mature than they are, and little boys thinking they are supposed to have sex with these girls, now, because - in their words - "everybody else is doing it."
So, who's fault is it?  Guess. . . Ours.  Yeah, I said it: it's our fault.  Know why?  Because we, the next generation, are horrible examples of how a grown up should act, and not just in the sensual way.  We are violent, hurtful, conniving, lying, thieving, and all manner of other wrong things.  We are supposed to be role models for the next generation, like the generation before us was.  Now, granted, some people from the generation before us weren't very good role models, either, but it just keeps getting worse, and worse.
Think about a time when you were around young children.  Maybe you were with your friends while around these kids.  Everyone acts different when they're with their friends, right?  Well, did you catch yourself saying something that probably shouldn't be said within earshot of a child?  Cussing, or talking bad about someone, calling them nasty things behind their back; talking about inappropriate things, like sex, or B.J.'s, or other things?  See, we don't watch what we say when we're around kids, because we think they aren't listening.  But, really, they hear every word you say.  There is a quote that fits in perfectly with this:

"Children seldom misquote you; they usually repeat, word for word, what you should not have said."

So, where do they learn all this from?  Yep, us, again.  We are one of the main reasons the generation below us is growing up like they are.  We destroy their environment by polluting it with things that a child should never have to be subjected to at such a tender age.  People say,"Oh don't worry, they're used to it."  That's exactly the problem.
And here we are, getting upset when a teen girl, who's our age, or younger, sleeps with a boy in her class. We automatically call her a slut.  Well, we don't have any more right to do it than they do.  Sex is reserved for those with the wedding bands around their fingers.  We're hypocrites, and the younger ones don't see any harm in doing what we do, because that's what they've been around since they were very small.  TV and other media doesn't help much, either.  We're seeing more and more things that should be classified as "porn" on regular television.

But, you know, it doesn't have to be like this.  If our generation would stop being so pig-headed, talking about that kind of stuff, even when we're not around kids, it might not be so hard to act right.  If you can't say it around a child, don't say it at all, even when no kids are around.  That's where we go wrong a lot.  Starting to keep a closer check on what comes out of your mouth would be a great place to start amending.  We need to take responsibility for our actions, and not make the younger generation suffer for our mistakes.  We need to grow up, before the damage we've cause becomes irreversible.
It's true, it's not all our fault.  The younger generation make their own choices, but those choices are heavily influenced by certain factors, many of them we've already discussed.

So, now that I've got that out of my system, what do you say to you and me cleaning up our acts, to help the young ones clean up theirs?

Feather-Frenzied Fun

So, I told you guys I'd post pictures of my Halloween costume!  Just to make things clear about what I was exactly, I was half angel, half human.  I also had black tear streaks running down my face, but I got tired of them and took them off after school.
The wing I made from soft white cloth wrapped around a wire hanger that I had bent in the shape of a wing, then hot glued together.  Then, I took my duck's feathers that I have been collecting for months, now, and poked them through the fabric, and then hot glued them at the bases so they wouldn't fall out.
(Kissed by an angel, ha!)

So, there was my Halloween costume.  Really, I just wanted an excuse to wear the wing.  I'm so tempted to just walk into Walmart with that strapped on, act completely normal, and see what people do.  Then, whenever someone tries to touch it, I'll turn and freak out on them, like, "Don't touch my wing!  I can't trust anyone not to pull my feathers out; that really hurts, you know?!"  Ha.  Priceless.  But, anywho.  There's what I promised you.  Gimme your thoughts!

P.S.  I only made one wing because I ran out of duck feathers =[.  But, someday, this wing will have a twin, I vow it!  Night, everyone.

Normally, I Would Be Opposed, But In This Case...

So, normally I don't care for people doing covers of other people's songs, but for these two, Emily Luther and Charlie Puth, I'll make an exception; they do a beautiful cover of Adele's Someone Like You.  Take a look:

Another video I have recently fallen in love with was done by a Mr. Nick Pitera.  His voice range is absolutely crazy!!  Check it out:  (P.S. Pay attention to what he's doing in the different windows in reaction to the window that's singing, especially the villain.  It's really funny.)

This video makes me laugh, every time.  Gotta love it.  Anyway, I just thought I'd share these crazily talented kids with you all.  Goodnight.

P.S.  Tomorrow, I will post pictures of my Halloween costume for you guys.  All I can tell you is that this is the first year in a long time that I haven't been a vampire haha.  Night!

The Invisible

Yes, The Invisible is a movie, but right now, that's not what I'm talking about. (Although, that movie is amazing).  No, I'm talking about actually feeling you're invisible.  For awhile, it was the wallflower, just part of the wallpaper; now, there is no wallpaper.  I'm just downright invisible, and I am sick of it.
She had told me that she was sorry I felt left out, and that she would rather talk to me about more serious stuff because I take here more seriously than the other two.  And that made me feel better.
Until yesterday, when she read aloud her autobiography.
"[Those two] are my best friends.  I don't know what I would do without them..."
I literally jerked back like I had been slapped.  That's sure what it felt like.  I mean, yeah, maybe I'm taking it a bit too hard, but dang, that's a pretty callous thing to do, especially after she had told me I was a good friend, and the only one who took her seriously.  Yet, she still fails to mention that I was her friend, too...
And what about Kayla?  It's always been the five of us; since when did Kayla and I become the ghosts of the party, the kind that everyone knows that something's there, but they just don't bother looking.

After class yesterday, we had lunch.  And after lunch, I went to the restroom.  As soon as I had shut the door behind me, I was sliding down the wall, bawling like a baby.  I felt stupid, even stupider when I walked into English and nobody noticed my eyes were red-rimmed and still wet from crying.  Of course they wouldn't notice, I thought, you're a ghost, remember?
Today, I knew things would be the same; they were.  Every time I'd try and talk to one of them, they'd all just look at me like I was stupid, or they'd just act like I hadn't spoken at all.  So, if I was telling a story, after realizing they weren't listening, I'd just slowly die out, and act as if I hadn't spoken at all, either.
After lunch today, Tanner asked if I wanted to drop by his house and get a Powerade or something.  We ended up parked in the driveway with me sobbing and bawling like somebody had died.  I guess somebody did die.  Me.

My sister told me to just say screw them.  My dad told me to move on.  Tanner told me it would all be okay.  The first two said to give them space, and all three said I didn't deserve to be treated like that.

You ever get punched in the face?  Well, imagine that, times three, several times a day, and each one is delivered by your best friends.

I sat crying in the cafeteria after school today.  When Kayla walked by, I willed her to turn around, to come ask what was wrong, so I could talk to her like I used to.  But she just kept walking, not even noticing me.  And when I watched her walk out the door, not looking back, I thought, "Great, I'm invisible to her, now, too."  And then I think that I probably couldn't talk to her anyway; I've tried several times this year, and I either get the same look I get from the other three (the "you're-dumb-stop-talking look), or she just starts talking about something totally off-subject, that usually has to do with her.  So, I just shut-up and let her talk, adding in an "Uh huh," or an "Oh, that's awesome," whenever appropriate.

I'm trying to stay upbeat, here, I really am.  But, after going through this once already, with Zach, I don't want to go through it four more times.  Except, there's nothing I can do but follow my family's advice: give 'em space.  At least there's one friend I know that is never going to leave me, or forget about me, or give me that look that says nobody wants to listen; and He knows what all my troubles are, so I don't have to feel stupid trying to tell Him about them, and hoping He won't think I'm acting like a child.  He's never going to pretend I'm invisible, and I'm so grateful for that..

Night, guys...

Demons and Other (Real) Creepies

So, Thursday night - it was a very windy night, and had an eerie edge to it - Tanner was driving back from my house, after dropping me off.  The next words are his own:
"I came over the top of a hill, and on the other side something really big and dark looking kind of appeared in the middle of the road, like ten feet ahead of me.. And I figured it was a deer, but it looked sort of hunched over.. Anyways, I knew I was gonna hit whatever it was.  So I just held on tight and tensed up, but I just went right through!!  It was like nothing was there, but I saw it!  I felt like the blood just drained out of me after that... I don't really know how to describe the feeling I got.."
Now, this was all through text, and I read it on the verge of falling asleep.  Well, I can tell you I was wide awake after I read that first part.  Tanner thought maybe it was just a dust devil or something, but dust devils don't chill your blood.  I knew from experience what would chill a person's blood like that: a demon.  Yeah, go ahead; you can laugh and scoff all you like, but demons are no joke.  They exist, and I've come into contact with them more than once before.  Now, you may be thinking "Oh, if I ever came across one, I could totally handle it, and I wouldn't be scared a bit."  Well, I can tell you good luck with that, but no matter how much courage you have, just a demon's presence alone would be enough to paralyze you with fear, and maybe even cause you to cry like a little girl.  Would you like to hear a few instances I've encountered demons and other creepies?  If you don't, then stop reading, because this crap is real.

Instance # 1:
Several years ago, when my grandpa still owned his horse barn, my dad and I were staying in one of the trailer houses there, that weekend.  We were helping out with chores, and it was a waste of gas to go back home, only to come back the next morning to do chores again.  So, we stayed the night.  There was a back room with a bed, and that is where I slept, while my dad slept on the couch in the living room.  Now, the door to the back room, once it's shut, is really hard to get open again without making a lot of noise, and kicking it a couple of times (it swung inward).  Well, it was the middle of the night, and there was just a tiny bit of light seeping through the cracked door in the bathroom.  Suddenly, I went from sleeping peacefully to awake and terrified.  The room got cold, and I began to sweat in fear.  I could see in the dim light that the door to my room was slowly opening, not making a sound.  My dad had shut it tight after he had said goodnight to me, but I hadn't heard it open.  Just then, something big and dark moved through the door and began coming towards my bed.  For a split second I had hope it was the Newfoundland dog, Pike, but then I realized that this thing had no legs, and no head.  It was just a mass of darkness.
Shaking like a leaf, I yanked my covers over my head and frantically began to pray "God, please make it go away, God please make it go away," over and over again.  A few seconds later, the temperature began to warm again, so I slowly brought the blankets away from my face.  The thing was gone.  But my door was still open.

Instance # 2 (This occurred over several different days)
Day 1:  I was babysitting for a lady in town, and I had all three kids to watch.  Since their parents liked me, they said I could invite a few friends over once the kids went to sleep, because the house can get a little eerie alone.  Needless to say, I took them up on that.  Well, it was around midnight, and my friend said he had to get home, so I walked him to his car across the street.  Suddenly, one of the kids began to scream inside the house, bloody murder.  I ran as fast as I could back to the house, and found the middle child sitting up in bed, her knees curled into her chest.  She was crying hysterically, saying that something wet and cold had been moving around the bottom of her bed and trying to grab her ankles.  Quickly, I flipped the blanket up at the very foot of her bed and felt the sheets.  It was damp, and cool.  Alarmed, I quickly put the blanket back down and instead focused on the little girl.  She went on to tell me that she and older brother sometimes  heard footsteps that sounded like they were in the walls, and laughter.  Other times doors would slam shut without warning.  This, I was aware of, for it had happened to me once while I was making lunch for the youngest child, for he was the only one I was babysitting at the time.
Anyway, the little girl and I prayed, asking God to keep her and her two brothers safe, and to not let any more things scare them.  Luckily, God answered, and he kept the demons from coming back that night.  However, it was not the last night that I encountered them.
Day 2:  It was another late night, so, after I had put the kids to sleep, I had a few friends come over.  We sat and talked in the kitchen, and somehow, we got on the subject of the paranormal.  My friend Matt is very interested in this type of stuff, while the other two thought we were just making stuff up.  That's we encountered the little girl.  We never saw her, but Matt and I could feel her.  Just by feeling, we were able to describe her.  She seemed about three or four years old, with long dark hair, wearing a little sundress with daisies on it.  We could somehow sense that she was barefoot, and her knees were dirty as if she had been playing in the dirt.  She didn't feel evil, but when people die, their souls either go to Heaven or Hell; they don't do any of this staying behind business.  But still, I couldn't help but think she was just a simple little spirit, and she seemed to like me, because she held my hand a lot, and even sat in my lap.  Then, I remembered about the demon downstairs.  I decided to show Matt.  Now, the little girl was too terrified to go down the stairs, it seemed, so she waited at the top with my other two friends while Matt and I went downstairs.  Almost immediately, I started feeling a resistance.  It felt like I was trying to walk through thick blankets.  When we got the bottom, where the youngest child's room was, it was almost unbearable.  His room was right next to the boiler room, and when I tried to follow Matt inside, I was literally stopped by an invisible wall.  I couldn't breath and I had to back away, but Matt passed through.  Almost immediately, he came back out, saying it felt so evil in there, it was hard to breath.  I was worried about the youngest boy, so I opened his door and Matt and I stepped inside.  To my relief, the evil feeling lessened when we were in the youngest's room, which meant that whatever sort of demon it was, it couldn't get inside the room.  So, instead, it just hung around the doorway on the outside.  We went back upstairs, and almost immediately, the little girl wrapped her fingers around my hand.  It didn't feel like fingers; it felt like cool air had encircled the tips of my fingers.
Matt and I could tell that this little girl was scared of whatever was downstairs, and she tried to follow us when we left, even going as far as to actually get into the car with us.  But I told her she had to protect the kids, and this seemed to change her mind.  I still don't know what she was, if she was a demon, or what, but it just goes to show that you can easily be fooled by the Devil.

There is one more instance, and it is by far, the biggest and scariest encounter I've ever had.  But I will have to write that later, because I have to work tomorrow, and I need to go to bed.  Plus, I'm not feeling very good at the moment.  I just hope I'm not sick again.

P.S. I labeled this Dreams and Nightmares because, in a sense, facing demons is a nightmare... Say your prayers tonight, because just thinking about demons can open doors for them, doors you really don't want opened.  Night everyone.  I pray God keeps you safe.

Thanks a lot, everyone, for taking time to read my rambling messes!  Keep reading; there's bound to be more!

Homecoming Week

So, last week, our school had Homecoming week.  Here are the pictures from each dress-up day:

Monday: Creeper Day (Don't you see the family resemblance?)

Tuesday: Twin Day (The only one I could find.  I was actually a triplet; our third counterpart is missing from this photo)

Wednesday: Zombie Day (I was a zombie hunter)

Thursday: Barbie/Princess Day (I was Teacher Barbie.  I'm pointing at a tag, btw, not just my boob; the tag says Miss Barbie)

Friday: Purple and White Day (School colors)

My last Homecoming; I had to make it big, so I dressed up for every single day.  But, I have to say, Zombie Day was my favourite.  I had just watched the movie Zombieland two nights before, so my friends and I were running around yelling "Double Tap!" and "Limber Up!" and "Check the Back Seat!" the whole day.  But mostly, we just yelled "Double Tap!"
Twin Day, we had college fair day, so a bunch of us were running around the fair in matching outfits; I think we made the college reps nervous.  Ha.
On the Barbie/Princess Day, we had to take our Senior class pictures, so a bunch of us had to change; luckily, all I had to do was slip on a pair of jeans beneath my shirt/dress thingy, throw on my Converse, and I was good.  Others were not so lucky:

Yes, that is my boyfriend, Tanner.  That is my swimsuit top he is wearing; he wanted to be Malibu Barbie.  He's not gay, I swear.

Saturday, we had the Homecoming dance.  Here's a picture from that:

Yeah, I Picniked it.  From left to right it goes Kayla, Meriam, me, Tanner (making a strange face; I have no clue what he's doing), and the Homecoming Queen, Sara.

So, yeah.  That was most of the events that occurred last week.  Hope you enjoyed being thoroughly freaked out.

P.S. It took nearly forty-five minutes to get the snarls out of my hair on Monday night.  My poor hair is now suffering severely of split ends.

And the Wallflower Returns...

Here we go, again; first, the other day, I had a dentist's appointment, and I figured my friend would wait for me to get out, then I could go over to her house, and we could watch anime like we always do, and then head to One Act practice.  But when I called her to see if she was still in town, she said, "No, sorry, I had to go home."
I can understand if you had to, but. . .couldn't you have texted me, first?  You know, let me know, so I wouldn't be left hanging?  I would have waited all night for you if you had asked, and if I couldn't, I would have at least texted you to let you know I couldn't stay and wait.

Then, there's the other three.  The first time we actually hung out this year, we went to McDonald's.  Second time, just this last Friday, they threw me a belated birthday party, and got me a sword as a present, and I had a blast.  But. . . other than that, they don't really talk to me.  They all sit together, and they all laugh about inside jokes that I have no clue about.  When I try and talk to them, figure out what they're saying, either, they don't hear me, or they just give me this look, along with one to a few word responses, such as, "Never mind, you had to be there," or "Nothing, just forget about it."  Sure, they still talk small talk with me, sometimes, but other than that. . . I'm slipping back into the wallpaper:
     1. I let myself get talked over, when really, being talked over is a huge pet peeve of mine.  I do it because, even if I talk louder, and happen to get their attention, they just look at me like I'm being a b**** and need to knock it off.  So, I just let it happen.
     2. When nobody notices I'm there, I just leave, because it's not like they'd miss me anyway.
     3. When I stubbornly stand there until they know I'm there, all I get is annoyed looks, like, "You need to leave, and stop doing that."  And then, I feel like a major dumb***; so, mostly, I just follow the previous number.

Today, I went in to do a book report, after school.  Tanner had a lot of homework to do, so he went home.  And since it was a Monday, that meant One Act practice, and, so I thought, the starting up of trips to my friend's house, again.  However, she left me, yet again.  Didn't try to text me to see where I was, she just left.  Not knowing where to go, I texted one of the three to see if I could go over to her house, since, I obviously couldn't stay in the school until One Act.  However, it wasn't until an hour later, after my father had come and picked me up, and taken me home, did she answer.  At that point, I really didn't want to see anyone.  And it worked out to where I didn't have to, because one of our horses had broken through the fence, and my dad needed me to go find the break.  I couldn't find the break, however, but one section of the wire was completely loose, so, my dad and I assumed that the mare had crawled beneath the fence by lifting up the loose wire with her head and simply walking under it.
I probably still could have made it to One Act (not on time, of course), but another mare, I noticed, would hardly eat her grain.  Then, she laid down.  Not to roll, but because her tummy ached.  She was colicking.  So, after making her get up, only to have her lie down, again, I slipped a halter on her and continually walked her around in circles until she went to the bathroom.  Poor thing was miserable until then, but my dad told me, that if I hadn't have stayed home and found her, she probably would have died.

While I was out checking fence, I rode my horse, listened to my iPod, and cried like a baby.  the rest of our herd, bless their hearts, always know when I'm upset, and later, as I was still crying, surrounded me in a huddle, and literally, took turns licking me, nudging my head and face, rubbing their faces against my stomach and chest, etc.

However, for all the comfort they provided, it was nothing compared to what God reminded me: that He would always be there for me, and he would never ignore me, or pretend I wasn't there.  He is my ultimate best friend, and He will never fade away.

I'm still finding it hard to deal with the fact that I'm returning to my wallflower state, this year, but there's not much I can do about it, I guess, except let God handle it.

Birthday in the ER of Bergan Mercy Hospital

So, today is my birthday.  And I spent the first 45 minutes of it an a hospital bed in the ER.
     Let me explain.
See, I've been on an antibiotic for this cut I have on my ankle.  Anyway, that, and a combination of Ibuprofen caused my stomach to get very irritated, causing pain, nausea, and vomiting.  It was not a good deal.
Yesterday, my boyfriend took me to the River Riot concert in Council Bluffs, and basically, all I did was sit and watch, because I was too nauseated to do anything else.  The concert was awesome, but it would've been better if I could have felt better.
After the concert, we went to eat at Cracker Barrel, but I couldn't even eat anything, my abdomen hurt so bad.  So, that's when we went to the ER.  I was slightly dehydrated, so they had trouble finding my veins to draw blood.  Let me tell you, I don't like needles in the first place, but when they keep inserting them over and over in the same spot, trying to find your vein, that really sucks.  But that didn't suck half as bad as the shot in the butt that I received, to relieve the rash that my ankle-antibiotic gave me.  I think that that was the worst part of the whole thing.
After the shot in the butt (which is still very sore, by the way) I had to drink this disgusting, goopy drink the nurse called a "cocktail."  It was to help the nausea.  I had to plug my nose in order to drink it.  And, for the next 15 minutes or so, my throat, tongue, and lips were numb.  I nearly choked when I tried to swallow, because I couldn't feel myself actually swallowing anything.  It was terrible.  But the butt-shot was still the worst.
Now, at least until my stomach gets back to normal, I have to take this certain pill a half hour before eating anything, and I can only eat bland foods for the first 24 hours, bland being dry toast, applesauce, mashed potatoes, etc.  Also, if I want to take any medication, I have to take the same pill mentioned above, like, an hour or so before I take whatever it is I wanted to take.  Which would be pointless to take after an hour or so, because you probably wouldn't need it anymore, but whatever.
But yeah, the whole food thing really sucks, because when I came home today, there was pizza.  And my parents wanted to take me to Subway.   I did get a little six-inch, but I don't think I'm going to try eating him until tomorrow.

Okay, I'm gonna go. . . do something, I dunno.  I just took one of those pill things, 'cause I'm gonna eat some applesauce in a little bit, so I can't crash, although I'd really love to.

Concert Madness

Yesterday, I went to a concert with my sister, her husband, his mom, and my boyfriend.  We saw Skillet and Daughtry, and let me tell you:  Just seeing Skillet was soo worth the forty-two bucks I paid for the ticket.  I love Skillet.

Yay, John Cooper.  We also got a picture of him with a Husker cap on, which was awesome.  It was so funny, he just kept saying, "I like you people.  I really like you people.  We need to come here more often."  Ain't that the truth?  I would be down with that, definitely.  And let me just say, Skillet is amazing live.  (And yes, I wanted a Skillet tee so bad, I dropped thirty bucks for one after the show was over.)  I really like the fact that they never cuss in any of their songs.  And none of their songs are dirty; I love it.

Okay, I'm going to stop gushing about Skillet.  Although, one more story about them.  It's short, I promise.  Anyway, John was talking and he goes (not his exact words),"Just so everybody knows, yes, we named our band after a frying pan.  Skillet is the worst name in band history.  Don't Tweet me on that, please."  It was so funny, and when he said the frying pan bit, for some reason, I immediately thought of Tangled, and her frying pan, which made me laugh all the harder, because it was the part where she was swinging it around on her finger, and she smacks herself in the side of the head with it.  Haha.

Anyway, before Daughtry came on, my sister, Tanner and I had somehow, miraculously, weaved our way almost to the very front, and were standing right in front of this row of folding chairs.  On the other side of the chairs, behind us, (well, behind me) was this, like, six-foot tall chick, who was really loud, and more than likely, drunk.  Anyway, there was nothing going on at the moment, but my sis and I wanted to get a better look at the stage, so we stood up on the chairs to see and take a couple pictures.  Now, remember the tall, loud, obnoxious drunk chick I mentioned earlier?  Well, as soon as I stood up, I hear her go, "Oh, hell no!!"  My sister and I pointedly ignored her and her friend.  We figured "There's nothing happening, we'll get down when the concert starts."  Well, Loud-Mouth Blondie behind me wasn't having it.  First, she only nudged my chair.  I didn't do anything.  Then, she goes and tries to tip my chair all the way over.  Lucky for her, I was in a good mood, so I just used Tanner to hold me and the chair down and ignored her, again.  Finally, she yells at us, "Will you guys get down, please?!" and she said it in a none-too-friendly tone, too.  As soon as she said this, my sister whips around, with a dark look on her face and Hell in her eyes and says, "The concert hasn't started, yet; there's nothing going on, and we'll get down when the concert does start, okay?!"  Immediately, Blondie backs off, saying, "Okay, okay, I'm sorry, I'm sorry."  My sister turns around like nothing happened, and continues taking pictures.  It was hilarious, but we could hear Blondie grouching to her friend behind us, so my sister stepped down, and told me to stay up there a bit longer, and pretend I was taking pictures, just to spite Blondie.  After a few minutes, I got down, too, rolling my eyes when Loud-Mouth goes, "Ugh, finally!"  But then, not a minute later, I turn around, and her and her little friend have their backs turned to the stage, sitting on the backs of the chairs, not even paying attention.  It was like, Really?  All that fuss for nothing?  I almost got back up on the chair, but decided I didn't feel like getting tossed out for a fight, which probably would have ensued if I had.
In the end, though, it was okay.  My sister loves Daughtry, so Tanner and I got her as close to him as possible.  And by close, I mean six-inches-from-touching-his-hand-while-leaning-over-the-railing-close.  It was a pretty good night. (Although her mother-in-law got even closer; she got to put her arm around him and get a picture with him.  My sister was soo jealous.)

Okay, I need to crash.  Back to school, tomorrow.  Hope you all had a nice Labor Day.  I'll catch you peeps later.

Organized Messes and Amnesia

Don't you hate it when you put stuff where you know you'll remember their location, then somebody goes and moves things around because they think it's messy?
I'm thinking of this because I always keep my iPod charger on the computer desk, and, now, suddenly it's not here.  I have only one explanation:  Mother!
And it's only my charger that's missing; all of the rest of the clutter is still piled on the desk.  Oh, sometimes, I just want to move all her stuff around, and see how she likes it.
Then again, since I am getting to that age where I'm starting to lose my mind (18 is the DoomsMind Age in this family; sometimes the disease strikes even earlier), maybe I took it somewhere for some stupid reason that no one could ever make sense of, and just forgot where I put it.  But I could've (it just told me "could've" was not a word.  Bite me, Spell Check) sworn that I had left it where I always leave it, which is on the computer desk.
I'm pretty sure the DoomsMind Disease has already settled in.  I can't even remember what we had for lunch yesterday.

In case you guys can't tell, I'm in one of those so-tired-and-worn-out-that-you're-super-hyper moods.  Well, I guess it's not really a mood, but whatever.  Either way, I'm like that right now, and I think I carpel-tunnel from trying to finish my Kingdom Hearts poster/drawing-thing for Art class tomorrow, so I can turn it in for sketchbook.  I'm almost done, but the shading is killing me.

Okay, I'm going to go back to it, now.  Maybe I can get majority of it done tonight, then finish the rest tomorrow morning.

Alice In Wonderland: Dark Shadow...

Itching to hang with my buddy for a little while, I went over to her house yesterday to hang out.  We were messing around, trying on clothes.  Now, first, I should mention, my buddy (Kayla) is an amazing seamstress.  She is absolutely phenomenal at making Lolita dresses:

This is an example of a Lolita.  Pretty hot stuff, if you ask me.  So fun to wear.

Anyway, she had made a couple, and, for the longest time, she has always wanted to do a photo shoot with Alice In Wonderland, not only with a regular Alice, but a Dark Alice, as well.  So, since I hadn't had any camera fun in awhile, we decided to do the shoot that day.  Let's just say it was a blast (aside from pesky mosquitoes, itchy plants, and heat of the afternoon sun).  Kayla is going to edit them, but she's going to put all the of them on Facebook, unedited, so I can play with them, too.  And when she does that, I'll go ahead and post some on here for you guys.  They were pretty entertaining.

So, that's all I really wanted to share for the moment... Other than I'm feeling like crap, I don't know why. My body is achy, and my head hurts constantly, and I'm so exhausted.  But other than that, that's all I've got to say.

500

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone.  I'm at 500 views, now.  I appreciate you guys sticking with me.

Toodle-loo,
Max

Riddled Like Swiss Cheese. . .

A few of you that I go to school with may have heard me say this more than once today.  To those of you who have no idea what I'm talking about, let me explain.
You see, this morning, I got up and felt great.  The sunrise was beautiful, and it was going to be a good day. . .up until around 7:25 or so, in the morning.  It was then, I overheard a conversation, in which, its contents, I wished I had known earlier:  My friend Logan is moving away.  Tomorrow.  Back to where he had come from in the first place.  And the school year just started, so I've gotten to talk to him, maybe once or twice since school began.
This is where the Swiss cheese comes in.  You see, I'm starting to feel like I'm the Swiss cheese; I'm becoming riddled with holes.  Why?  Because. . . I keep losing people. . . First, Grace and Rose.  Next, Zach (twice, might I add).  Then, my brother.  And now, Logan?  I mean, come on, gimme a break!  By the end of the year, there won't be any of me left to leave holes in!

Somehow, I should've seen this coming; I can never start off a day thinking it'll be great, and have nothing ruin it for me.  I sort of thought of that this morning, listening to the radio.  We were set to the Christian station, and it was saying about how hardships aren't cruelty or punishment from God; they're ways to make us trust more in Him.  But, I gotta say, this sure feels like cruelty, God.  But, I guess I just gotta trust You.  Seriously, though, this really sucks.  Just saying.

Still want to cry.  Told the boy he better text me when he leaves, and I want letters from him eventually (I like letters.) -Sigh- My heart hurts.  This sucks.

The Uninspiring, and Tomboy-ish

That's about how things are going for the moment:  Everything is uninspiring.  I get no inspiration to write, none to draw, none to study for my upcoming ACT test (which is on the 10th of September, coming right up), no inspiration to study for my driver's test (coming up as soon as I turn 18, on the 24th of September).  -Sigh-.

Although I haven't been getting anywhere in the things that are pretty important at the moment, I did, however, treat myself to a little bit of old-movie-watching, I.E., I watched Tarzan.  Not the real movie, but the good old cartoon version.  I didn't realize that, even though that movie wasn't one of my favourites as a child, it has gone nearly to the top of my list of favourite childhood movies.

Back before I had boobs, and could still be mistaken as an ugly, long-haired boy, I would run around in the raggediest shorts I could find, with my little toy bow and arrow set, get super dirty outside in the dirt, and pretend I was the child-version of Tarzan; my swing-set was my jungle, where I could slide along the tree limbs (I.E., the frame of the swing-set, usually biffing it and hurting myself).  Although, I have to admit, I could shimmy up and down those poles like nobody's business.  I would stay perched at the top, my bow slung over my shoulder, my one, suction-cup-tipped arrow stuck through a belt loop, and wait for some innocent sibling or parent to walk beneath, whereupon I would swoop down, yelling like a banshee (or rather, like Tarzan) and scare the bejeebers out of said family member.  I gotta tell you, not much tops being Tarzan.  That was probably the best RP game I played as a child.  And it was okay that no siblings would play with me, because, after all, I was an ape, for all I knew (theoretically, of course.)  Guess who had to play the poor apes?  Mostly, the cats.  Although, they soon became too prissy to play with me as they grew older.
And it's all fun and games until Tarzan grows a pair of breasts. That game ended when the bras were introduced.  However, it did not stop me in playing male characters, especially when my brother and I began a new RP game:  It was totally based of the video game Legend of Legaia.  Coolest game ever.  Only, this time, I had to wear a shirt, thanks to said-bra mentioned above.

I hope you don't find these tales too offensive.  After all, I was just a little kid, and preferred playing with my brother, using swords made out of golf clubs without ends, to hack at Dad's trees as a practice of swordplay; this was as a opposed to Barbie dolls and girly things that my sister --the oldest and farthest from my age; something for you to factor in your equation of the question of my sanity at the time of my childhood-- enjoyed playing with.  I was a tomboy, and still am, at heart.  I prefer the tough, BA heroines in books, as opposed to the girly, popular, types.
Popularity was something that I stopped hoping to gain after 7th grade.  Nobody likes a snob, and I preferred to take other Nobodies under my small, disfigured wing, and together, we would be the coolest Nobodies anybody had never seen.  Heh, small attempt at a joke.  But seriously, even now, I'm perfectly and honestly happy to be a Nobody; because to the other Nobodies around, you're a Somebody, Somebody to look up to, because you actually give a crap about them, since you know what being hated on feels like.  And boy, do I know what it feels like!  In short, it sucks.  In long, it's one of the most hellish, painful, hateful streaks of Hell one could go through on Earth.  People are so mean, it's hard to imagine how they can stand their own company for more than 10 seconds.

Alright, now that I went down that pleasant little bunny trail, I bid thee all goodnight.  I need more sleep, especially after a long weekend of working.

The Last-First Day...

So, today was the first day of my last year in high school.  I feel old, guys.  My friend's birthday was today, and she is just turning 17.  I'll be 18 in September.  That makes me feel even older.
There's too many kids, now.  Too much has changed from last year; the schedules are ran differently, we get out of classes at weird, stupid times, like 9:28, or 3:21.  I mean, who does that, honestly?
Also, lunch is shorter.  And, apparently the school does not understand that eating too fast is not healthy.  They cut off, like, 7 or 8 minutes from lunch period.  That is 7 or 8 minutes less for us to digest our food, and get the energy we need to survive the next class period.
And, as my friend said earlier, we're even being treated different.  And unless you're an anti-social (most of whom, tend to pay a lot more attention to small details, since no one is paying attention to them), you wouldn't notice.  The teachers are acting differently.  Not so much like the teachers we've known in the past, the cool ones.  But I think it's because of the changes that are being enforced.  Our teachers aren't used to it, and it's putting some extra strain on them.

I have to say, I don't like walking all the way to the end of the hallway to get to my locker.  And our benches suck.  The Junior ones are better. -sigh- Is it bad that I don't feel like growing up, yet?  You know, has it ever occurred to the world that some of us don't feel like learning how to do taxes just yet, or how to balance checkbooks, or get jobs, or go to college?  Does it ever occur to the world that the reason it's so screwy is because we give up our childhood outlook on life so fast?  Seriously, if we all saw the world from a child's point of view, everything would be easy.  The worse thing that could happen is a butterfly dies, or a fuzzy Caterpillar gets eaten by a frog.  Or somebody stole your Sharpies.

Okay, now I'm starting to ramble, sorry guys.  I'm tired, and I miss my brother like crazy, and I don't want to go to school tomorrow.  But alas, it must be done.

I should get some sleep.  I'm gonna need it.  Goodnight, my friends.

Why Do I Have to Say Goodbye Now?...

So, I'm crying again, guys.  My brother is leaving tomorrow, for Maine.  He'll be gone for four years.  He may come back for my graduation, but I'm not sure.
I don't want to say goodbye. . . Who's going to put me in a headlock when I try to give him a hug?  Who's going to make me tickle his back while I watch him play video games?  Who's going to pretend he doesn't like it when I kiss his cheek?  Who's going to pop my back unexpectedly when I hug him?  It's true, what they say:  You don't know what you've got until it's gone.
I can't write any more. . . So I'll just post this, and leave it at that.

Treating Myself...

My mom and I went to town yesterday, and I got some things for me:

Not Pictured:  Mascara, and Nutrogena Acne Face Wash, because I don't think you'd really care about those, ha.

Okay, the candy is self-explanatory.  The binoculars were a gift from the bank for opening an account there.  The nail polish is amazing, because it is yellow, and I love yellow.  That lotion, is the most amazing lotion on this planet.  See, I don't like lotion that makes your skin feel oily and stuff, and this kind just leaves it feeling soft.  It's also unscented, which I rather like.  Thank you to my Spanish teacher for always having this lotion in her classroom.  It was a life-saver during the winter.
Now, the book is one that I have been wanting for a very long time, ever since I found it in my school's library.  But see, I accidentally spilled coffee on the library's copy, so I was going to get another one off of Amazon, a hardcover, to replace the one I had sort of mutilated. (Also, I want the one in the library, because it is older, and has the most peculiar, but fantastic smell to it, and I absolutely love it.  So, I was planning on offering a trade:  The nice hardcover, for the coffee-stained paperback.)  Unfortunately, as you can see, the book that was sent to me is not a hardcover.  It is also not the right copy.  The copy you see is actually the Advance Reading Copy:  Uncorrected Proofs For Limited Distribution.  Meaning, there's mistakes in it, and things added, that aren't in the final copy.  I know this because I have read the one in the library so many times, that I can remember what sentences are originally in it, and which ones aren't.  Yes, I know, pathetic.  But, anyway, my mom ordered another one, and hopefully, it's up to par.  It said it's coming with it's original dust jacket, so I'm thinking that means it's actually a hardcover. (In the defense of the people that sent us the first one, it does say "Berkley Hardcover" on it.)
The headphones were just amazing, and they sound amazing, too.  And the bag, now all pimped out in pins, including a Gryffindor one, is purely my new backpack for school.  So there you have it, my new stuff.

-10 or so hours later-

Just got back from Grand Island.  Got some more new stuffs, including that Crackle nail polish stuff (gotta love Hot Topic), and a new sketchbook (thanks, Mom!)

Tanner's mom got me some shoes the other day, which I promptly went home and doodled all over:

Ah, the wonder of Sharpies (just got some new, colored ones, today.)  The piano keys on the front are new.  I thought they added a nice touch.

Well, I'm going to go do my chores, and probably crash.  School shopping (and going to see Harry Potter:  The Deathly Hallows, Part 2, for the second time) takes a lot out of you.

Cooking Phases, And Being So Tired To The Point That You're Hyper...And Writing Interruptions

I went to a water park, today.  With my friend.  It was really fun, even though I lost yet another bit of jewelry.  Man, first my one of my lightning earrings, then my crazy heart bracelet, and now, my oriental coin necklace/anklet.  If I keep losing jewelry, I'm going to have nothing crazy to wear, and freak people out with, when school starts.  Blah, gotta start being ore careful.  I'm hard on my poor jewelry.  Anyway, moving on.
The water park is the whole reason for the bit in the title that reads And Being So Tired To The Point That You're Hyper.  Moving on.

So, I've been in this real crazy cooking phase, lately.  The other day, I spent four hours preparing bacon cheeseburgers and french fries.  The reason it took so long is because all I have is a tiny George Foreman grill that can fit approximately 4 slices of bacon, if I'm lucky, and about two, or three big hamburger patties.  Yeah, but anyway, my brother was still in town, and usually, he spends forever there, but I texted him and told him what I made.  Let's just say it wasn't long before he came peeling into the driveway (haha..sorry, I felt that needed a laugh after it).
Then, last night, I tried my hand at frying zucchini and pickles slices.  Hm, that one didn't go as well, at first.  I had my stove up too high, so it made my zucchini fry way too fast, so it didn't look right.  Plus, my oil began smoking, and I ended up smoking up the whole house.  And when I say that, I'm not kidding:  The kitchen, mudroom, dining room, living room, the whole downstairs, basically.
But, in the end, I lowered my heat, peeled off the crappy fried outside on the zucchini, and re-fried them.  So, they were "re-fried zucchini".  Ha.  Get it?  Like "re-fried beans" only instead it's. . . Yeah, never mind.  But, along with the fried zucchini and fried pickles (which turned out great, by the way, although they will never be as good as Hooters' fried pickles, yum!), I made a little vegetable and pepperoni taco-thing.  Let me explain:  I took a small, soft taco shell, and put romaine lettuce as the bottom layer.  On top of that, I put pepperoni slices, and sprinkled cheese on top of that.  Then, I sliced up some romaine tomatoes, and put three slices on each dish, placing them in a nice, little line.  Next, I sliced three, small slices of green pepper and placed them on top of the tomatoes.  Finally, I added slices of a small cucumber, and slices of banana pepper, which have a nice little nip to them, and on the very top, I added some low-fat miracle whip dressing, and some more cheese.  To eat it, you just picked it up and ate it as if it were a hard-shell taco, instead of soft shell.  Here, I'll even give you some pictures:

The objects next to it are the fried pickles and zucchini.

So, there's what I cooked up last night.  It was actually really tasty.

As for the very last bit in my title, I have been getting quite a few writing interruptions.  Meaning, whenever I'm getting ready to write, somebody interrupts me.  Like just a little bit ago, for instance.  I sat down, all revved up to go, when my dad decides he wants to sleep downstairs.  Right next to the computer.  But, luckily, when I said sadly "But I was going to stay up and write a bit," he relented, and went upstairs to sleep. Thank goodness for dads who support their daughters' dreams.  See, this is why you guys are able to read this.  If my dad had slept down here, this might never have been posted.

And, now, I'm off.  I have a bad case of the munchies, so I think I'm going to go eat a cucumber, and maybe a spoonful of watermelon.

Toodle-loo.

(P.S. I'm getting really tired of that stupid "write-what-you-see text, to see if you are human" things that I have to do each time I post crap to Facebook.  Their pissing me off, and I can never read the first set!  I always have to choose a different one.  I'm very much human, unlike you, you stupid computer/Internet Thing!  Okay, I'm done.  Goodnight.)

A Thank You...

So, I don't get many comments on my stuff, and I just noticed that two very kind people just commented on a few of my posts today.  And I just wanted to say:  THANK YOU!!!

So, yes, this is a big thank you to Carrlos and justmedownhere23.  I appreciate every small bit of support!!
